Hey y’all! It has been a long while. I really fell off the every week thing, and I thought doing every two weeks, but that turned into a month which turned into being embarrassed that I hadn’t posted. That turned into not updating until now. This is going to be a long post, but I promise that it will have fun tattoos, lots of self-deprecating humor, shameless plugs, and some wonderful kitty moments.
Let’s get into it!
Tattooing
tattooing has been a wild trip lately. we went to the Middle of the Map convention in Iowa, and I got to tattoo some of the flash designs (including Handsome Mothman omgggg). Some other highlights have been all the amazing projects I’ve started or wrapped up, especially some large scale ones. I am always so grateful for people’s trust with their body art, and I hope to be able to bring the best of myself for many years to come.
Our apprentice started tattooing recently and is already killing it. She’s still under super supervision, but it is amazing to see the growth she’s already making in her art and tattooing.
We are also getting real serious about this social media stuff, so make sure you’re following the shop and all of us on Instagram! @ginkgotreetattoo @robotattoos @shiv.tuck @jstabsyou. Writing
My writing class is over (super sad face) but I have still been finding the joy in writing. I have pivoted my third novel project into being a collection of short stories that all go together to tell stories surrounding one event.
The second novel is still being read and revised, so I hope to have more updates on that once I have something solid to send out to agents and publishers.
One of my favorite authors, Sequoia Nagamatsu, is going to be part of the Tin House faculty for their Autumn Online Workshop. I applied, so keep your fingers crossed I can get in and get to work with him!
The first novel, catalyst, is currently up to chapter 27 on my substack. I have been releasing two chapters every Tuesday, but it doesn’t have much readership. There are three parts to the book, and we are about halfway through part two. I am thinking of stopping the posts there unless more people get buzzed about it. If you wanna read the whole thing, share it with peeps, get other people involved in conversation about it, and the demand will require me to share it with you :) If you haven’t started it yet, the prologue can be found here!
Dancing
We recently filmed all of our pieces for this year’s film fest, For the Long Haul. Come see the whole thing on Thursday, June 5th at the Lyric! Doors are at 6:30 with the show at 8:30 following the opening fitness party. You can snag your tickets here!

Kitties
The babies are doing so great. Guinness has been the cuddliest boy in the world, and Alice (aka Crub) has really just been crubbin’ out this spring. Their current faves are sunbathing, the yellow blanket on Felix’s bed, and our fluffy orange pillows.
Life
Omg Felix graduated! He’s all done with school and ready to work on his hours towards his LPC (currently he’s LPCC). I can’t wait to see the world grow for him and for his purpose to deepen even further. He’s an excellent counselor already, but I know he’s going to do such great things in the world.
I also turned 37. Woot!
