hey y’all.
so, I quickly found that I didn’t have the space (or really the news) to share on a weekly basis. i’m pivoting to send out these updates every two weeks now with the possibility of making them every three weeks or monthly if necessary.
what sorts of content have you been enjoying the most out of them?
Tattoo
got to help Kate say goodbye to her Harry Potter tattoos and add some floral beauty back into her world.
loving this little guy that’s all healed up on Mandy’s arm. I cannot wait to post pics of the full sleeve once we get done!
blasted out Zach’s leg. we are working on a huge leg sleeve of biomech as a coverup. I have my work cut out for me, but it has been so cool to do so far.
Ren stopped in for this cat skull and lotus flowers.
Ella is working on this beautiful goat half-sleeve. next step is to add a sugar skull and flowers to the inner bicep before we blast it all full of color.
Bethanie out her getting all the pretty bugs on her. she also has an awesome leaf bug on her shoulder that I keep forgetting to get a healed photo of.
Mando busting out his Wild West sleeve one bit at a time! making me work hard using my brain for black and grey.
we will be at the Middle of the Map tattoo convention in Des Moines, Iowa from April 3rd-5th. I still have availability and will have a whole set of great flash designs with me. here is a skateboard that I painted for the silent auction:
if you wanna stay updated on the new flash that comes out, follow my two Instagram accounts: shiv.tuck and tofke_tuck
Writing
we had our graduation reading for the Grub Street LGBTQIA+ Novel Writers Immersive. it was so wonderful to have so many lovely people come out and support the writing cohort, and it was so awesome to get to be in community and hear the writing from the people I’ve been with for the last 9 months. I am so grateful for everything they have done to improve and champion my writing, and I cannot wait to see their names on bookshelves ASAP.
new chapters are up for catalyst if you wanna check them out. I have a whole page on my Substack devoted to just keeping these together and in order to make reading easier.
I started working on book number three. I don’t know where it’s going to go yet, but as I work through the thoughts I have, I am hoping it will come together nicely. taking a break from editing book number two has been very helpful.
Dance
we have been having a lot of fun accessing different movement styles and qualities in all of my classes:
Burlesque 1/2 has played around with lyrical and floor work stuff to a higher energy song with tons of big hits in the music.
Burlesque 2/3 has been riding the contemporary vibe with Virile by Moses Sumney and now Psilocybin & Daisies by Jessie Reyez.
Hip Hop 1/2 finished up Tick Tock by Joji and is now on to like JENNIE by JENNIE. talk about a switch in vibe, but they seem to be loving it.
Kitties
now that the move is all done, the kitties have just been alternating napping and exploring. can’t say I blame them.
Life
death work stuff continues! I am part of an awesome group of people, and we are offering some programming throughout the summer to talk all things death and grief. I will personally be leading the Intro to Holistic End of Life Planning and Legacy Projects sessions. here’s the informational flyer where you can scan the QR code to stay updated on offerings:
we are all moved into our new apartment and even have a new couch! now that all the maintenance issues are taken care of, we have been loving making this a great place to be
I also painted a piece for a fundraiser for Fort Collins Mural Project and am working on another painting for a fundraiser for Animal Friend’s Alliance. here’s the FCMP one (minus the pins I still have to hammer into it)
I also got my hair done by Aja and the side of my head tattooed by Christel! here’s a car selfie I tried to look cool in but mostly look tired and dehydrated haha
I guess that’s all for now! I look forward to info dumping on you all again soon!
